Day 6 (8/17/2010)--Pray For Jacob

Jacob developed a cough that was fairly consistent so we put him on Cipro. Today Dr. Provino, a pediatric ICU doctor who did his residency at Texas Children's Hospital, will come by the hotel to listen to Jacob. Everything is o.k. right now, but he and Dr. Cantu thought it would be good for him to get to know Jacob just in case something came up that required further attention. The medical people here have a real sense of calling with regard to what they are doing--its definitely not just a job. Jacob is in good spirits and, as I said, I don't suspect a long term problem. Nevertheless, please remember him as he sees the doctor today.
